Hot on One Side, Ridiculous on the Other
I guess we can call this Video Week here at The Incongruities, but I can't resist posting this commercial, which has been retrieved to the collective consciousness by Pat over at the top-notch Pittsburgh Pirates blog, "Where Have You Gone, Andy Van Slyke?" (The answer, for you literalists out there, is "Detroit." You're all reading everything you can get your hands on about the Pirates, anyway, so you knew that, right? Bucs 4, Brewcrew 2, last night, FYI)
But anyway, there's nothing incongruous here. In fact, it's a perfect confluence of George Costanza, Miami Vice tailoring, gross overuse of styrofoam, and hyperbole. Watch and enjoy what could be the best looking lettuce and tomato hamburger commercial ever!

You see, Al Gore, it's the Americans' preference for keeping the cool cool and the hot hot that's the problem. THAT is the incovenient truth.
