If what Billy Pilgrim learned from the Tralfamadorians is true, that we will all live forever, no matter how dead we may sometimes seem to be, I am not overjoyed. Still--if I am going to spend eternity visiting this moment and that, I'm grateful that so many of those moments are nice.
I bought the Thunderbolt Kid book for my dad for his birthday, and now I get messages like the following once a week. Last week it was Carol Burnett, which I almost understand. This week, eh, the connection seems tenuous to me. Did one person buy both books in the same order and spur a whole email campaign?
