AP: I'm here to help
1986.
"Former Bradley University student Ali al-Marri, is shown in this undated file photo."
UPDATE to Carolyn in comments: You are wrong. I have only seen Knocked Up in the theater, though I've got reviews of Curse of the Golden Flower, Kill Bill Vol. 2, Charlotte's Web, Volver, and Fast Food Nation coming from my DVD consumption. Patience.
As for Mr. Al-Marri's photo (note to gov't: just charge him with offenses against good taste and get on with the trial), I used a special technique called Hernandez-Dating, which takes the chronological median of a match with Willie Hernandez and one with Keith Hernandez, and hence, I got 1986. Very advanced technique.
Warmly,

Hot on One Side, Ridiculous on the Other
I guess we can call this Video Week here at The Incongruities, but I can't resist posting this commercial, which has been retrieved to the collective consciousness by Pat over at the top-notch Pittsburgh Pirates blog, "Where Have You Gone, Andy Van Slyke?" (The answer, for you literalists out there, is "Detroit." You're all reading everything you can get your hands on about the Pirates, anyway, so you knew that, right? Bucs 4, Brewcrew 2, last night, FYI)
But anyway, there's nothing incongruous here. In fact, it's a perfect confluence of George Costanza, Miami Vice tailoring, gross overuse of styrofoam, and hyperbole. Watch and enjoy what could be the best looking lettuce and tomato hamburger commercial ever!
Warmly,
JLD

Important Gary Gaetti News
For those who might care, or merely be amused, I'd like to share that I have just discovered that Gary "The Rat" Gaetti is the new hitting coach of the Durham Bulls.
No current information available on Kent Hrbek.
Warmly,
JLD
